Generis uses a unique, patented switching technology that does not require a DC link. This means that Generis offers full four-quadrant arrangement offers unity power factor and minimal input current distortion. Four-quadrant control eliminates the need for active front-end drives or braking resistors, simplifying AC motor control in complex applications.
Removing the DC link in an AC drive also significantly reduces harmonic distortion from the mains supply and improves the drive's efficiency. The drive controls all types of AC motors, both open- and closed-loop, to maximize the application range.
Generis is ideally suited for traditional industries such as conversion, metalworking, printing, packaging, pressing and test setups, and is designed to simplify operation without compromising performance.
Four user-friendly push buttons are used for commissioning, with a two-line, 40-character display, eliminating the need to consult a manual. Thanks to its simple installation, Generis can be up and running in minutes, with full auto-tune functionality to maximize engine performance and efficiency.
The graphical programming software platform will be familiar to customers who are used to using and programming the Sprint DC controllers.
