Last year, HMS Networks achieved a significant milestone by successfully implementing RBMS (Routing Behind Mobile Station) within the Anybus Bolt 5G and the 5G router.
As the first industrial company to support this feature, it is now a standard in our products. This feature, while seemingly small, allows the IP addresses of devices “behind” the Bolt 5G to be assigned from the 5G side, enabling seamless routing of messages to these devices.
This advancement is crucial as it allows a 5G network to be integrated into existing installations, replacing parts of the network with a wireless 5G solution without changing existing IP addresses. This is particularly important for many applications where reprogramming PLCs and controlled devices is not feasible.
