In order to be able to test various machine parts for thermal influences, a well-known, international machine builder has commissioned Pics to develop an furnace control that allows absolute flexibility.
The operator must be able to select the maximum applied power and activate programmable profiles whereby a so-called “Gain-sheduling” automatically kicks into action. “Gainsheduling” is the dynamic adjustment of PID parameters as a function of power and temperature profile.
The entire test sequence and associated data logging is orchestrated from an overlying SCADA application. Communication with the controller (EPC3008) as well as thyristor units (Epack) happens via Modbus TCP over Ethernet.
The cabinet is extremely compact and therefore also affordable!
